No Cancer cells found in the two surgical biopsies done at the hospital. All they got was inflammation cells. The tumor is growing deep. Too deep for them to get the right kind of cells that they are looking for, and too risky to cut into that part of the neck any deeper.
Specialists looked at the needle biopsies that were done initially and still see abnormal (malignant)cells that resemble the Large Cell Lymphoma that they are still leaning toward, however they will not treat her based on just a needle biopsy. Since the tumor has wrapped itself around nerves and is leaning against the major artery in the neck. Our surgeon does not want to cut any deeper into the neck, so a biopsy of the three masses in her abdomen will be taken and pathologists will compare that to the initial needle biopsy.
We are looking at a more invasive surgery of the abdomen Friday or Tuesday. They will call us on Friday morning to schedule her for her 5th biopsy.
Cross your fingers. We are praying that they get the information they need to determine what we will do from here on out.
That's all I got
