Jessica was asked the question this week, "Are you ever afraid of what the future might bring?"
Her response was, "Why should I be......I had a priesthood blessing and was promised that things would turn out alright."
It reminds me of one of my favorite quotes by President Thomas S. Monson who says: "Your future is as bright as your faith."
That quote was mentioned on Sunday a few times and it makes so much sense.
Someone asked me this week if Jessica was sad or depressed. My answer to that is; She has her moments. The week after Chemo is difficult for her and she tries her best not to let herself get too overwhelmed by it all. It's tough and it's definitely not very fun, but for the most part, Jessica has accepted that this is where she is at. It is what it is. On the weeks, the furthest away from Chemo, she is pretty much the Jessica we know. Her sense of humor comes back and the old Jessica comes back to life again. So, I'd have to say "No" she's not depressed, she's just climbing a little mountain right now and there are days when you climb without a smile on your face, but that doesn't mean you're sad. It just means you spend all your energy on getting up it.
She had a pretty good few days this weekend. It seems the longer she is away from Chemo Treatments, the more back to normal she feels. About 10 days of misery and then 10 days where she feels pretty good and then we go back in to do it all again. In the mean time, we try really hard to schedule all the fun stuff around the good 10 days. However, we are hit and miss sometimes.
Our schedule this week is Labwork on Wednesday (July 6th), Scans at the hospital all day Thursday (July 7th) and Chemo Treatments and Spinal Tap in the Hospital on Monday (July 11th). After that, we just wait and see how she does. We continue to go in for Labs once a week.
Thanks everybody for all the prayers on our behalf. It's what keeps us going.
