Surgery Is Done

The infection in her tumor on the neck delayed her surgery until Today.
Jessica had lapriscopic surgery on her abdomen this morning at 9:00am. Doctor's removed a mass from her pancreas at that time. She is still fighting infection and is recovering from the disruption of her pancreas. Pathologists on site did a preliminary confirmation that the mass appeared to have all the characteristics of a malignant tumor and feel pretty confident based on viewing the slides under the microscope today that they are consistent with the first biopsy of the tumor in her neck.
They will most likely get confirmation by Tomorrow and will name and stage the type of cancer by Wednesday. (as to a hodgekins or non hodgekins lymphoma) Those results will most likely have to be sent away for diagnostics to determine the type.

This surgery was quite a bit more invasive than the last two. She is resting in her room with her constant cocktail of antibiotics, morphine, and IV fluids. Probably not up to visitors for a day or so.

Jessica says thank you for the cards, (The big ones from seminary and Choir class were AWESOME) She also appreciates the books, clothes, lotion, magazines, gift baskets and flowers that have made her smile.
Thanks to everyone else who has come to our home to serve us with meals, house stuff and tending kids. We couldn't make it through this without you.

All our love
-Thurgood's
