So a friend called the other day and asked, "when are you going to post another update on your blog......it's been 3 days."
That was when I realized that people were actually reading this thing.
Our Family is not really into blogging. I'm not good at facebook ( I used it for my home business and that was it).
We tend to be pretty private people and when we want to talk to someone, we will go to their house or call them on the phone. So when a friend said she'd put up a blog for Jessica so that people could check updates here instead of me calling everyone, I jumped at the chance. Finally a good use for this technology.
However, Jessica will be traveling down this road for a long time now. We are pretty much settling in to a new normal for her. It's not really necessary for us to update her progress as much. I fear that the word "Cancer" gets too much attention and recognition. This experience has opened our eyes to sooo many other people out there who are still left with no diagnosis, or with a diagnosis not as recognized as Cancer and yet they have needs and they struggle every bit as much as we do. There are so many in our wards and neighborhoods who live with ongoing health problems, battling them for years and years. That can be just as hard. I hope we will all be aware of the people around us in those circumstances and continue to serve and help them.
Thanks everyone for what you do. We are inspired by your service and all the ways you show you care. It's opened our eyes to what more we too can do for people around us. The most amazing thing is watching people use their own specific talents to serve. We had a 12 year old girl paint pictures and sell them, people have offered their photographic talent, cleaning, cooking, house repair, visits, calls, prayers, technology, nutritional supplements and resources, tears, kind words, gifts, quilts, cards, attention to all the other neglected members of our family and so on.......
You are amazing................Pass it ON!!

Chemotherapy today....................No spinal tap though (yeahhhhhh!!!!!)
Hair has not started to fall (yet)
She doesn't know this, but we're going wig shopping after chemo. I'm preparing to do some motherly arm twisting.
The idea to use a blog to get information out to all of us was a fantastic idea! We check for updares on a daily basis. I wish we had used one when Cathy was sick.

Well, to be honest, it was Cathy coming over to the house at the beginning of all of this and sitting at the end of the bed talking Jessica through some things she could expect that inspired us. That gave her the confidence she needed to stare this in the face and not be afraid of this.
